Well, what can we say about our Sunday gatherings? Firstly, we are quite chilled, it's a relaxed atmosphere and we serve tea and coffee from 10am until the service starts at 10.30am. For late risers who rush in we also serve tea and coffee after the service so there's no chance of missing out!
We don't have a 'set-in-stone' format to our services: Normally we are sat round small tables which together with a cuppa in hand is great for getting to know other people.
There will often be singing, prayers, a reading from the Bible and a talk based on the reading around a theme. Sometimes there will be videos, and you may be invited to have a chat with the people sat beside you on how we might begin to apply in real life what we've heard.
We don't pretend to have all the answers, rather it's a great place to ask our questions: working out what it means to live out our faith in Jesus in our everyday.
If you're looking for glitz, it's fair to say we are not that kind of church. But, if you are looking to be with a group of people who are walking Life's journey together, who acknowledge we don't have life all sewn up and are working faith out then come and be part of this community. There is space to get involved and help shape our mission and ministry.
The themes for our gatherings are below.
The best way to find out about us and what we are really like is to come along and play your part. There is plenty opportunities for you to use the gifts God has given you - some of those you may know about and others are yet to be discovered! We are a mix of people of all ages and backgrounds.
In terms of our governance, we have an elected leadership team who serve alongside our Minister as trustees. The team are accountable to the CBC Forum (traditionally known as 'The Church Meeting') where the whole congregation have the opportunity to help shape our vision and our values.
Safeguarding is important to us and our policy can be found via the link.
We are part of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and are also active in supporting the work of the Yorkshire Baptist Association.
